I have an employee with pain over her coccyx which is preventing her from sitting at the computer or when interviewing paitients (she is a Psychologist).  She has tried a coccyx cushion which she is finding somewhat beneficial, but due to the size and shape of the cushion it cannot fit properly on her task chair seat  and causes a gap which is preventing her from resting her back on the backrest.

Does anyone know if there are coccyx cushions with a curved back so they can fit properly against the backrest?

There are a few chair manufacturers that will custom build seats with a coccyx cutout – ErgoGenesis is one of them.  It may be a little more expensive, but worth the money if their job requires them to sit for extended periods of time.

I designed one a few years ago while working at Neutral Posture.  It can be built in to any of their best selling model chairs and is usually a big hit with employee’s like the one you are working with.  Their website is http://www.neutralposture.com good luck!
