Do you have suggested guidelines for joystick control mapping on when to use direct mapping (e.g. pushing forward to move up) versus indirect/cockpit mapping (e.g. pull backing to move up)? I was thinking that direct mapping makes sense when you are controlling something with respect to a two-dimensional surface, like a cursor over a map or screen, and indirect when you are trying to control in three dimensions, like a surgical tool.
