Does anyone know of good studies, standards or anecdotal information on when it would be necessary to provide a chair to sit and rest during an 8, 10 or 12 hour work shift? Some of our jobs require people to remain in a standing position and we are looking at the sit stand stools but others have short periods of inactivity built into them. For example, they might be required to be standing and walking for 1-2 hours continuously but then able to sit for 10-20 minutes to watch the process. Is there anything that justifies providing seating once they exceed a specified period of time. Thanks.
